THESEUS-H4C participated in the 64th ERSA Congress in Athens on 27th August  during the special session: “The Necessity of Circular Economy Implementation in a Regional Context”

The session was chaired by Eleni Gaki (University of the Aegean ) and Charalampos K. Manousiadis (I-SENSEGroup/ICCS, THESEUS Lead Project Manager).

A few key highlights included:
– Connecting Circular Economy to Regional Development, presented by Dr. Eleni Gaki , exploring how resource efficiency, waste valorization, and alternative consumption models can drive sustainable and resilient regional economies aligned with EU and national strategies.
– Innovative Water Recovery & Reuse in Attica, presented by Dr. Argyro Plevri (National Technical University of Athens), showcasing real-world solutions from decentralized sewer mining and rooftops rainwater harvesting to reclaimed water fertigation and sewage sludge valorization, all emphasizing stakeholder co-creation and regional resilience.
