New scientific publication on energy system modelling in Greece

A new scientific publication in the journal Energy Strategy Reviews explores how energy system modelling has been applied to the Greek energy sector since the ratification of the Paris Agreement.

The study, co-authored by researchers from the THESEUS Hub4Circularity, provides a systematic review of modelling approaches used in Greece, examining the tools employed, methodological frameworks, and the level of transparency and openness of existing models. The analysis highlights current trends in the literature and identifies gaps related to spatial and temporal resolution, modelling transparency, and the coverage of key system dimensions.

Such research contributes to improving the knowledge base needed to support evidence based decision making and the design of integrated strategies for the energy transition.
