Theseus-H4C
The Theseus workshop at the Crete2025 Conference, hosted by indigo – TUC , took place in May 30th 2025 and brought together key experts and stakeholders from the textile sector to explore circular solutions for textile waste management.
The session showcased:– The Theseus vision and tools for circularity in textiles, presented by ICCS – NTUA– Planned up-cycling technologies by the The University of Huddersfield and National Technical University of Athens– Industrial insights from COMO, highlighting real world integration and innovation challenges
A dynamic panel discussion followed, focusing on technical, economic, and policy barriers to circularity in the sector. Speakers from The University of Huddersfield , Recycom Greece, Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH) , and FIBRAN International shared perspectives on:– Technological shifts– Collection of post-consumer textiles– Regional circularity hubs– Policy shifts like the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation
The workshop clearly illustrated how Theseus is positioning itself at the heart of the transition to a circular textile economy.
